The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is the latest Sony device to receive the Android Nougat update along with the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z3+ Dual. However, reports say that the Nougat update for the Xperia Z5, which began rolling out early this week, has been mysteriously halted with no word from Sony as to why.

Sony has markedly improved its delivery of software updates to its earmarked Sony devices. A far cry from last year's long delay, taking five full months before the Android Marshmallow was rolled out to the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablets on March 2016.

With the Android 7.0 Nougat update just three-months old, Sony has almost completed its Nougat roadmap with the latest device, the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. Earlier this week, the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium began receiving the Nougat update.

Recently, Sony confirmed in a tweet that it has rolled out the Android Nougat update to all Xperia Z5 smartphones including the Xperia Z5 Compact. The Nougat update on the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet and Xperia Z3+ devices are on a regions basis with users to receive notifications within a few days.

The only remaining Sony devices in the Nougat update roadmap are the Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra. The other devices in the Z4 series like the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4v released in the second quarter of 2015 will not get the update with the exception of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, Gadgets360 reported.

However, users feedback reported in the XperiaBlog revealed that the over-the-air Nougat update with build number 32.3.A.0.372 has appeared for some Xperia Z5 owners but disappeared and can no longer be found in Sony servers. This affects the whole Xperia Z5 family including the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablets and Xperia Z3+ devices.

It is not clear as to why the Nougat update was removed with some users saying it is a temporary halt. Other say that the firmware had some bug issues that need to be fixed before Sony pushes for mass distribution, GSM Arena reported. Bugs include problems with video playback, call stuttering and abnormal battery drain.

Nonetheless, other users of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablets have confirmed to receive the Android Nougat update. As to what the update brings, check out Sony's trailer of the latest software below.
