Windows 10 Creators Update Pushes Advertising To Users, Removes Apps Corner In Mobile [VIDEO]

The Windows 10 Creators Update has a couple of unpleasant surprises, which include integrated advertising already experienced by disgruntled users of the beta version. Moreover, the latest update removed the Apps Corner, which locks down the phone when used by kids, with no replacement offered by Microsoft.

It appears that Microsoft is now pushing and building the hype on the Windows 10 Creators Update, which will debut in April. This week's reports on the "dangers of Windows 7" could be one of those ploys to entice users to make the upgrade.

With Windows 7 and Windows 8 no longer available for new hardware, users have no other option but to upgrade to the Windows 10 Creators Update. However, Forbes picked up some nasty surprises hidden in the massive Windows 10 Creators Update starting with the integrated advertising that peddles apps and pushes for Microsoft services.

There are evidences discovered in the Windows 10 Creators Update betas where advertising is integrated into two new parts of the operating system. There is now a new share User Interface promoting the "Box" that shows ads as discovered by Twitter user Vito Mikaelson.

The Windows 10 Creators Update seems to be dictating what apps the user should use by allowing ads in the share tool. Another unpleasant feature in the beta of the Windows 10 Creators Update includes advertising of third party apps that utilize Microsoft services and also Microsoft apps utilizing third party programs.

To illustrate, Myce reported on one user who installed Chrome, which soon delivered annoying pop-up ads on the Chrome icon in the Windows 10 taskbar. Though Microsoft could easily remove the ads on the Windows 10 Creators Update come April, the beta already sets logical precedents.

Microsoft gave away millions of copies of Windows 10 for free and it would naturally expect some form of returns in the same manner like Google. However, Google users knew the trade-off from day one but Windows users have never experienced integrated advertising as seen in the Windows 10 Creators Update.

Meanwhile, the Windows 10 Creators Update has removed the Apps Corner in Windows 10 Mobile because of infrequent usage. The Apps Corner enables users to customize the apps that will function in a locked-down mode to protect data usage from prying kids. However, the app had bug issues and took a long time to launch, which is why it did not catch on.

Recently, Microsoft Donna Sakar revealed that the Apps Corner will no longer be available in Windows 10 mobile devices. Unfortunately, there is no replacement for the Apps Corner included in the Windows 10 Creators Update according to mspoweruser.
