Xiaomi Mi 5c will be another budget phone launched in December that's said to boast decent internal specifications and come with affordable price.

Mi 5c is reportedly the first Xiaomi's device to rock an in-house processor codenamed Pinecone. According to leaks, the custom octa-core processor is clocked at 2 GHz, BGR reported. Other rumor suggests a 3GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage will be shipped with Mi 5c.

Xiaomi's upcoming flagship is said to come in two variants, 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch. Tech geeks have speculated that Mi 5c will also get a decent build with all-metal body like the sibling.

The Mi 5 variant runs Android Marshmallow. It also features fingerprint reader, NFC support, and rapid-charging for its 3,000 mAh battery, GSM Arena has learned. Hence, the affordable Mi 5c might likely sport the features and receive a slight improvement in the battery capacity.

What makes the top-tier device different from Mi 5c is definitely the processor and probably in the camera department. Mi 5c will likely sport lower resolution, 12 MP rear shooter and 8 MP selfie shooter.

Previously, a rumor circulating through the web has claimed the device's pricepoint. It suggests a CNY 999 or around $144 pricetag. Judging from the alleged price and tech specs, Mi 5c is an entry-level handset that packs decent hardware. However, a different report suggests around $218 price which may not make sense if Meri smartphone is designed for budget concerns.

Xiaomi 'Meri' Mi 5c Release Date

Xiaomi is expected to introduce Mi 5c in two color variants - Black and Rose Gold, on Dec. 6.
