Xiaomi Redmi 4a: Design and build

The sleek, slim, and matted smartphone has all-metal body. The speakers and USB port are located at the bottom and the screen slightly looks like a bezel-less phone. Xiaomi has successfully copies high-end smartphone designs by bringing the elegant build to its flagships.

A metal body does bring enhancement to the phone and it is something that potential buyers consider when opting for a smartphone.

Xiaomi offers Redmi 4a in two colors: Rose Gold and Gold.

The 5-inch phone weighs 131.5 grams - much lighter than the Redmi 4 with 156 grams of weight. Redmi 4a runs Android Marshmallow with MIUI 8 interface on top of Snapdragon 425 - which according to Mobipicker, has a great performing CPU.

The optics department pairs 13 MP rear camera (autofocus, LED Flash) and 5 MP of selfie shooter. Users can expect features like HDR mode, smile detection and more.

Redmi 4a does not own a fingerprint scanner like the Redmi 4. The big difference between the two devices would be the battery capacity. Redmi 4 packs 4,100 mAh whilst Redmi 4a gets modest capacity of 3,120 mAh, as listed in GSM Arena. Redmi 4a pairs 2GB RAM with 16GB of memory.

Surpassing its own record last year, the Redmi 4a brings massive success for the Apple of China due to its affordability.

Xiaomi offers the Redmi 4a at an extremely cheap price around $72. With such internal specifications, it is no surprise that this device becomes the best-selling phone.
