Apple CEO Admits They Suck at Hiring; Giant Tech Company Hired Dangerously Low Numbers Since 2007?

By

Giant Tech company Apple said in a statement that it has unique decisions in keeping and expanding their workforce in the United States. President-elect Donald Trump encouraged companies in the country to provide more opportunities for Americans, especially that the U.S. is losing too much manufacturing jobs. He said that he will make Apple hire workers from the country for their iPhones and not from China. Does that mean they hire less now compared to before?

Apple is least likely to manufacture iPhones in the United States, New York Times reported. However, putting up a smartphone factory in the U.S. is a concrete way to provide work for Americans, especially those who lack college degrees.

Apple has been a big help in providing more opportunities for workers in America with a focus in their campus located in Austin Texas, Mac Rumors reported. That campus now has 6,000 employees, which is big growth from 2,100 in 2009. According to the company, it has provided over 2 million jobs for American citizens since it released its iPhone in 2007.

The Austin campus focuses on tech support. Besides that, it also has workers who manage the company's network of suppliers. Some workers are responsible for running iTunes, the App Store, audits finances, and updates Maps.

A call center working for Apple's Austin campus earns up to $30,000 a year. After finishing a one-year contract, these workers become permanent and earns up to $45,000 a year. These workers also enjoy amazing benefits and small yearly stock grants.

Apple has 80,000 direct employees in the United States. According to the company, its 69 supplier facilities from all over 33 states in the US manufactures certain parts that are used for its products. It also employs hundreds of thousands of software developers that creates apps for its flagship products, like iPads and iPhones.
