‘Pokemon GO’ Updates: Second Generation Pokemon Released Before U.S. Thanksgiving Celebration? [RUMORS]

The huge success gathered by the commenced "Pokemon GO" Halloween Event signifies that the augmented reality game is still a hit among netizens. For this reason, Niantic is rumored to release the second generation Pokemons just before the U.S. Thanksgiving celebration to avoid snuffing out the fun. Read more details here!

Second Generation Pokemon Release Date

Niantic is expected to release the most anticipated major update of Pokemon GO, the second generation Pokemons. According to Slash Gear, Niantic has hinted about the release of Generation 2 Pokemons during the holiday season or January next year the least; however, fans are still hopeful for the update to arrive before U.S. Thanksgiving celebration on Nov. 24.

Furthermore, the publication site added that the second generation Pokemons comes from the universe of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver from the region of Johto. The second wave of Pokemons will consist of 150 new pocket monsters in addition to the 100 existing ones and fans are likely to see more of Eevee evolutions.

Moreover, the following Pokemons are expected to have their evolutions in the major update: Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Zubat, Onix, Scyther, Horsea, Porygon and. Chansey. On the other hand, the following Pokemons will have a split evolution: Oddish, Poliwag, Eevee, Slowpoke.

"Pokemon GO" Successful Halloween Event

The commenced "Pokemon GO" Halloween Event was a huge success that took place from October 26 to November 1. According to Silicon Era, Niantic reported that there are 1.3 Billion ghost Pokemon (consists of nine creepy Pokemons) that were caught by the players during the event with Gastly as the most-caught followed by Cubone and Drowzee.

Aside from catching ghost Pokemons, players also enjoyed gathering bonus candies for catching and hatching pocket monsters. Niantic CEO John Hanke revealed about the secret hiding in "Pokemon GO" but he refused to talk about it but Games Radar believed that it has something to do about the upcoming major update.
