UCLA Partners With InsideTrack to Provide Career Coaching to Alumni and Continuing Ed Students

Thanks to a partnership with the nation's leading provider of student success coaching services, the University of California, Los Angeles now provides personalized career coaching to all alumni, as well as UCLA Extension students and alumni.

Three of UCLA's divisions - UCLA Extension, UCLA Alumni Affairs, and the UCLA Career Center - have partnered with student coaching provider InsideTrack, Campus Technology reported. The partnership offers alumni and students the opportunity to subscribe to InsideTrack's uCoach student success coaching resources.

InsideTrack specializes in giving students personalized support that can include one-on-one meetings with a personal coach, tools that can be used to create a career search plan, live workshops that teach job skills, as well as video tutorials that provide career-development and job-seeking counsel. All of these resources can be accessed through the uCoach web and mobile platforms via InsideTrack's official website.

In a joint statement, UCLA Extension Dean Wayne Smutz, UCLA Alumni Affairs' Senior Director of Bruin Connections  Angela Scales and UCLA Director of Career Center Wesley Thorne, expressed their excitement over the partnership and its possible benefits to UCLA alumni and students.

"UCLA alumni and Extension students expect access to first-rate professional development solutions," they said. They are committed to providing their graduates and continuing education students with the support they need to thrive in fulfilling careers. Thorne, Scales and Smutz also expressed their excitement to leverage the success of InsideTrack as a critical partner in helping them honor that commitment.

Carrie Lockhert, Associate Vice President of Client Partnerships at InsideTrack, is also looking forward to the partnership.

"We are excited to be working with UCLA to equip their graduates and continuing education students with the skills and support they need to lead meaningful, choice-filled lives," Lockhert said in a press release.

InsideTrack has been providing high-quality coaching since 2001 and has given its services to more than 1.3 million students and alumni at more than 1,600 academic programs across the United States.

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at UCLA will still be able to receive traditional career advising, programming, and career fairs through UCLA's Career Center.
