Netflix Series ‘The Punisher’ Update: ‘The Punisher’ Cast Revealed; Series Gets Release Date? [VIDEO]

The appearance of Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, in the latest release of "Marvel's Daredevil" left fans wanting more. On top of this, the anticipation grows as new information is released almost every day.

The partnership of Netflix and Marvel have produced such titles as "Marvel's Daredevil," "Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage." Following the success of the three, Netflix ordered "The Punisher" into production earlier this year, Marvel reported.

Jon Bernthal will, of course, be reprising his role as Frank Castle a.k.a. the Punisher. Fans agree that his portrayal of the highly unstable ex-Marine left such a good impression that it essentially secured the role for him. Also, several cast members have been revealed to join Bernthal, Cinema Blend reported:

  • Ben Barnes will be playing Billy Russo a.k.a. Jigsaw, Frank Castle's long time archenemy. He is a villain going as far back as "The Punisher's" introduction into the comics.
  • Ebon Moss-Bacharach was taken on as Micro, a former National Security Agent aiding Castle. However, the character will not be the same hacker/weapons expert found in the comic books.
  • Amber Rose Revah will play Dinah Madani. She is a Homeland Security agent tasked with catching the Punisher. She will be a new character created by Steve Lightfoot and his team.
  • Deborah Ann Woll is among the cast members as Karen Page. She will be playing the same character she had in "Marvel's Daredevil" who grew close to Frank in the series. It is unclear as to how she will be played into the story, however, her appearance has been confirmed after being spotted on set.
  • Paul Schultze will be Rawlins Paul, a dirty CIA agent whose dealings put him Frank's crosshairs.
  • Michael Nathanson was brought on as Agent Sam Stein, another federal officer working with Dinah.

Fans are disappointed to know that there isn't an official announcement on the release date. Netfilx series "The Punisher" is speculated to start streaming some time during 2017. However, filming has already begun.
