‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Gets Official Release Date - Everything You Need To Know [VIDEO]

By

The "Stranger Things" Season 2 release date has been confirmed. The show will return to Netflix in July 2017, and until then, here are some of the updates you need to know about "Stranger Things" Season 2.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 cast: who's coming back

Most of the original cast members are returning, including Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin. Joe Keery, who plays fan favorite Steve Harrington, and Noah Schnapp, who played lost boy Will Byers, have been elevated to season regulars for the second outing.

There's still a lot of buzz surrounding Millie Bobby Brown's return as Eleven. In the finale of "Stranger Things" Season 1, Eleven sacrificed herself to kill the Demogorgon. Even with her seeming demise, fans are more than certain that she's still alive somewhere.

Moreover, in Interview Magazine, Brown slipped something that verifies the fan theories. "I cannot wait to go back to work. It's like I crave it, and when I get on set-it's not just that I love what I do-I love meeting new people. The crew, it's like being around my family, and I know them very well," Brown said. It's highly likely she's referring to her "Stranger Things" family.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 plot

Things are definitely going to be even stranger in "Stranger Things" Season 2, which has been pegged as a sequel to the first. Matt Duffer previously said that a lot of the mysteries that weren't answered in the first season will be resolved in the first. Along the way, the gang will also unearth new problems and new questions that need to be faced.

Interestingly, the story will take place one year after the events of the first season. By then, the characters will be facing the effects and the repercussions of being exposed to the Upside Down and what this means to the rest of the community.

"Without giving anything away, when you open the door to alternate dimensions, there's a lot you can do. We're not really boxed in!" the Duffer brothers told Empire. Are there going to be more monsters in "Stranger Things" Season 2?
