Samsung continues to refrain from providing more details about Galaxy Tab S3 release date, but this has not stopped rumors speculating about the upcoming smartphone's specs, feature and other details.

Galaxy fans were left disappointed during the IFA 2016 event as the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 turned out to be a no show. Nevertheless, rumors have it that the Galaxy Tab S3 release date is confirmed for mid-2017. The speculation stems from the fact that Samsung has already sent application for certification to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission).

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to come with an array of awe-inspiring specs and features, including a mammoth RAM capacity, robust battery and Exynos or a Qualcomm processor, among others.

Tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) shared a leaked photo of Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 on Twitter. The Tab S3 design doesn't seem to have undergone a radical overhaul. In fact, the cosmetic appearance of the device is quite identical to its precursor. The design might not be favored by those looking for a square tablet, according to NeuroGadget.

The Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to be powered either by an Exynos 8890 octa-core chipset or Snapdragon 820 processor. The Qualcomm processor will provide users with enhanced performance. A hefty 4GB RAM is expected for the 32GB as well as 64GB internal storage variant.

In terms of display specs, the Samsung tablet will be up for grabs in two alternatives based on their screen size, 8-inch and 9.7-inch, paired with 4K resolution and AMOLED display.

The 8-inch version will come with 4,000 mAh battery capacity while the 9.7-inch is expected to pack a robust 5,870 mAh battery, Mobile & Apps reported.

The upcoming Galaxy Tab will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS with a potential upgrade to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat in the future.The Tab S3 is likely to sport an 8MP primary and 2MP front camera, and will feature USB Type-C port.

The Galaxy Tab S3 will be up for grabs for a price around US$420.
