Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR: Can’t Beat HTC Vive Except the ‘Dumb But Clever’ Google VR Daydream [VIDEO]

By

The virtual reality race has become tougher when HTC Vive was challenged by the emerging competitors Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and Samsung VR Gear yet Vive still keep winning. But the newly launched Google VR Daydream is considered to be the game changer because behind its dumb looks lies a very clever feature.

HTC Vive Review

HTC Vive is considered by many as the best VR platform due to its technical specifications. In fact, Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and Samsung Gear have no match for this go-to hardware.

The best thing about HTC Vive is the display resolution with 1080 x 1200 per eye and a refresh rate of 90Hz as reported by Daily Dot. The most notable feature of Vive is its motion controllers and room-scale tracking.

For this reason, Oculus is also planning to enhance the Rift VR support by adding room-scale tracking by the end of 2016. However, there will be additional cost for that particular feature.

VR Daydream Advantages

Last October 4, Google has hosted a launching event to introduce their new products. Alongside the most talked-about Pixel phones is the VR daydream that is considered by some as dumb but clever - actually the cleverest of all products sorts in the market today according to Google blog.

When talking about comfort, VR Daydream may come first in the list of VR that offers no fatigue when worn. The fluffy soft fabric clothing that surrounded its physical body has made the users more comfortable.

VR Daydream's another advantage over other platforms is its easy-to-use feature where the user can plug it with a Daydream-ready phone. Cables and connectors are no concerns since both the phone and headset has auto-alignment system.

Daydream's powerful controller is its selling advantage because they enable users to interact both virtual and real world. The built-in sensors for movements and gestures make the platform versatile most especially when it swings like a bat or a wand.
