PlayStation 4 Pro Release Date, News & Update: PS4 Pro To Be Released On November; A 4K/HDR-Equipped Version Of PS4

By

Sony's PlayStation meeting event in New York last September 7, finally made known that the PlayStation 4 Pro is coming, and the console will be a 4K/HDR-equipped version of the PlayStation 4.

Andrew House, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, once said that the company claims the 4K resolution gaming capabilities of its upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro console. But, the Sony executive was asked if the 4K gaming in PS4 Pro is misleading, as the tech giant asserted that they will upscale most of the video games to fit 4K TVs.

House thinks that whatever the term is, it's a question of whether individuals will witness a demonstrable difference in the game experience or not, rather than the term people use to apply to it, based on the report of Vine Report.

Anyway, the new PS4 Pro console will offer a significant upgrade over the existing PS4, but the console will crucially do so while being fully compatible with its existing games, and will not carry any exclusive releases, according to Tech Radar.

Instead of rendering the video games natively, same as Microsoft's Xbox Project Scorpio planning to do, most of the games will get a visual boost and a graphics improvement from the standard 1080p.

However, the PlayStation 4 Pro or PS4 Pro will be equipped with an octa-core AMD custom Jaguar CPU, Integrated AMD Polaris graphics with 4.2 teraflops of performance, 8 gigabyte GDDR5 of RAM and 1 terabyte of built-in storage, Game Spot reported.

The PlayStation 4 Pro will have the dimensions of 12.8 x 11.6 x 2.1 inches and weighs 7.2 lbs. The console comes in black color with support for HDMI. PS4 Pro will also come along with three USB 3.1 ports. The console is expected to be compatible with other PlayStation 4 games, online games as well as PS Plus.

PS4 Pro is slated to hit the market on November 10.
