'Arrow' Season 5 Spoilers CW Series To Refocus On ‘Core Mission of the Show;’ TV Show Affected By 'Flashpoint'?

By

With 4 Seasons under its belt, "Arrow" has evolved into a much different show than it was since the first season.

The story and stakes in season 4, albeit darker, does not seem to match the gritty feel of the seasons before it. The personality of Arrow himself has completely changed into a much more stable protagonist.

Now with Arrow season 5, there have been a lot of discussions on what it would be like, and whether or not it can get back to basics - a thing that Arrow lead star Stephen Amell, and co-showrunner Wendy Mericle have been hinting at in recent interviews before season 4 even started.

For Amell, it is important to see the hooded vigilante of Star City to bring back the grittiness that it was renowed for in season 1 and season 2. Everything felt grounded until Barry Allen debuted their universe at lightspeed. Suddenly, the Arrow landscape has to cope with scenarios dealing with fantastical elements such as time travel, multiple Earths, and just recently, the realm of sorcery and magic.

Arrow could go back to the grittiness of its humble beginnings, but does that mean that going back to a more grounded approach means that the Arrow-verse would have to lessen its tie-ins with The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and the just moved to the CW Supergirl?

Recent events in "The Flash" pointed out to the the adaptation of the Flashpoint story arc, and "The Flash" lead star, Grant Gustin confirmed this in his recent tweets. Amell, stated that the events on "The Flash" season 2 finale will not have an impact on the condition of the inhabitants of Star City, but later backtracked his statement in The People's Choice Awards' official Twitter account being quoted by answering "sure" when asked if the Flashpoint story arc will have an impact on Arrow. When asked if it will "majorly" affect the show, Amell replied, "you bet," Screen Rant reported.

"Arrow" Season 5 release date is set for Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 8PM ET. While The Flash season 3 is schedule to be back on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 8PM ET, Morning Ledger reported.
