Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan has announced that "Overwatch" Competitive Mode would have exclusive rewards such as a golden Reinhardt Hammer and other golden weapon skins. This surprise stint aims to introduce a new type of cosmetic to the "Overwatch" game.

The website Korean PTR posted the leaked photos online which caught the attention of the fans. The golden array of rewards kicks off with the Reinhardt Hammer depicted from its original form now being enhanced in gold ensemble. These indeed could be the new weapon skins that gamers will see in game. 

However, just like all assets from PTR, these weapons may not be final and are subject to any change. Therefore, they can still be modified into better versions and come up with wider choices of weapons or may turn otherwise.

The competitive element of Blizzard's "Overwatch" came into light since its end of June launch. It is expected to potentially bring positive changes in the way the game as been played, Irish Examiner reported. This could and give people strong and important reasons to log in time and back to the game.

This exciting stuff is coming to all players for free. "Overwatch" competitive mode will allow people to sharpen up their skills and each success brings distinct rewards, IE added.. This in itself is a minefield. Since "Overwatch" has been a very balanced game, its developers assure everyone that no advantage is given to any player.

Meaning, competitive mode rewards are totally cosmetic which range from icons to sprays and including some extremely fancy weapons. Indeed, there are actually gold versions of guns that will surely stand out on the battlefield.

The gold rewards can be an acknowledgement to skilled players without making them more powerful. However, it may somehow serve as a clue that these gold-carrying characters got serious skills.
