Apple Inc. is believed to be gearing up the highly anticipated iMac 2017 to compete against Microsoft's Surface Studio. Despite the tech giant launched the iPad Pro and the MacBook Pro, reports are claiming that both devices have not been quite satisfactory. Nonetheless, the tech company seems to have more to offer yet, as the iMac is about to get its much-awaited refresh.

Although there has been no official word yet from the Cupertino-based tech giant to confirm, the iMac 2017 is expected to come along with an array of astounding specs and features. It has been said that the Taiwan-based manufacturer, Quanta Computers, will work on the new iMac 2017 starting next month.

Nevertheless, the tech titan plans to roll out two iMac 2017 models, the 27-inch iMac Pro and the 21.5-inch iMac. Apple's supply-chain sources based in Taiwan claimed that the production of two new all-in-one PCs will kick off sometime this month. The new iMac variants are said to be released in the third quarter of 2017 to catch up with the holiday season, Blasting News reported.

In terms of the iMac 2017 specs and features, the tech giant will equip the upcoming device with server-grade hardware. The iMac 2017 is said to come along with an ECC RAM (Error Correcting Code). The RAM is designed to protect data memory from radioactive decay, cosmic rays as well as electrical interference. Also, the iMac 2017 is anticipated to feature 64GB ECC RAM, up to 2TB NVMe SSD, latest discrete graphics card and an Intel server chip Xeon E3-1285 v6, First Post reported.

Furthermore, Apple's highly anticipated iMac 2017 will reportedly include the Touch Bar feature of the MacBook Pro 2016. The chassis of the device will be a Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C port, and the wireless keyboard is expected to have a Touch ID functionality.
