St. Johns River State College is now accepting applications for Radiologic Technology degree and other health-related profession programs on April 1 through May 15. The Radiologic degree program will be limited and classes will begin in August. Classes are based at the St. Augustine campus along with other selected clinical education courses that are scheduled in health care facilities throughout the region.

Graduates who are looking to build a career as a radiologic technologist will be eligible to take the National Certification Examination that will be administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The certification is recognized nationwide and will allow students to be licensed by the state of Florida to practice radiography.

According to The Florida Times-Union, St. Johns River State College is also accepting applicants for Health Information Tech degree program. Classes are available online and will begin in August. The students enrolled in the program will be eligible to sit for the national credentialing exam and become Registered Health Information Technicians.

They are also accepting applications for emergency medical technician (EMT) and paramedic programs, which also begins in August and classes will be held at the Orange Park campus. Field internships will be in Clay, Putnam and St. Johns counties in order to provide hands-on, life-saving practical experience and skills.

EMT is a semester-long program that will prepare students for certification as emergency medical technicians that is in accordance with Florida's Administrative Code. It is the initial level for a career in emergency medical services and the primary prerequisite for paramedic training and certification.

The paramedic program is a one-year college credit certificate program that prepares students for certification as paramedics and adheres to the most current US Department of Transportation National Emergency Medical Service Educational Standards.
