Wouldn't it be nice to have a spot in the campus where you can go and lay your head after some dragging hours of classroom lectures? Well, Trinity College Dublin has just created that perfect zone as they opened a special nap room for their students.

The nap room has just been officially opened at the Goldsmith Hall and is the first of many planned rooms for the TCD campus. It is a part of a campaign promise by student Welfare Officer Aiobhinn Loughlin, according to Lovin Dublin.

Since the union has took over the office last year, they have started working on preparing and decorating, and refurbishing the room so that it is ready to function as a nap and resting place for students. According to The Irish Sun, the room offers comfortable couches for students perfect for short naps within the day. There is just a partition that separates the room in the parlour. This partition serves as the "respite room", as TCDSU President, Kieran McNulty, would say it.

They have been eyeing on this parlour room since 2014, and the union has considered this is a priority for the last two years, until it was agreed to transform the room into a "sun-room" that will allow relaxation for students. Two additional break spaces for students have also just been recently opened on in the college.

Loughlin aims to help sleepy students, thus his plans to have more permanent nap rooms around the campus. In fact, she also has other great plans in mind for the TDC campus and that includes introducing gender-neutral bathrooms and conducting consent workshops in the college. The union itself is also currently working to develop a new student center.
