Rihanna is not only a famous singer for her Barbadian style of singing. She is also a notable representative supporting education and health care in the Caribbean and other developing countries. And because of her works in the humanitarian field, she is set to receive Harvard's Humanitarian of the Year award.

The chart-topper artist is going to receive the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award during Harvard's Foundation awarding ceremony next week and everyone is excited.

Harvard Foundation director, S. Allen Counter, says that Rihanna may be known for her music but she is also known for her charitable works, as reported by NBC News.

As the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the year, Harvard explains that Rihanna's work on creating the Clara and Lionel Foundation Scholarship, named after her grandparents, in support of education in America for students from Caribbean countries, and medical work on building a state of the art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados, are only a few of her contributions. Rihanna has also supported the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen project. The project aims to provide kids with access to education in developing countries.

Like Michelle Obama and Emma Watson, Rihanna is also giving priority to young girls that are affected by lack of access to education. The Harvard Foundation is going to award Rihanna with the Gomes on Feb. 28 at 4:00 p.m. at Sanders Theatre.

The event's admission is reportedly free but tickets are required upon entry. To those interested, tickets can be acquired through the Sanders Theatre beginning at noon the day of the performance. A Harvard ID is required and tickets are limited to two per person. In-person distribution only and the tickets are valid until 3:45 p.m.
