The spy shots of the Lamborghini Urus spotted last year turned out to be a false alarm as it was later found to be a disguised Audi Q7, however, this time, the real deal was spotted in Denmark recently, and despite the full disguise, its body make was undeniably the Lamborghini concept unveiled in Beijing, China in 2012.

An article with a photo of the fully disguised prototype of the Lamborghini Urus was posted on the Danish website Pro-Street.dk. The prototype retained most of its concept design observed Motor Authority; however, they pointed out that the design trim of the spotted prototype as bulkier than its rakish concept. They also noted that seems it lost the concept's pumped fenders while retaining it Countach-style wheel arches.

Lamborghini's CEO, Stefano Domenicali confirmed that pre-series models of the SUV are going to be built beginning April this year and that Lamborghini will retain its moniker, Urus, reported Digital Trends. Lamborghini officials predict Urus will be able to sell 3,500 units of the SUV annually.

To accommodate production of the Urus, annual sales of the Huracán and the Aventador will be capped at a combined total of approximately 3,500 units maintain each brand's exclusivity. Adding the production of the Urus would mean Lamborghini would have an annual output of 7,000 units.

Thus, Lamborghini will expand its sole factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, to produce the extra units. To this date, Lamborghini assembles all its vehicles from this factory by in-house trained craftsmen by hand.

Lamborghini Urus will have specific set-up for all road types including ice, snow, stones, and sand, according to Domenicali, Additionally, he envisions that hybridization will be part of Lamborghini citing that their first hybrid will be the second variant of the Urus. He also cited that the coming Lamborghini Urus will be semi-autonomous.

The company is also looking into the possibility of employing hybrid and electric motors on their sports cars once the technology can produce the same power as gas-powered engines. This means there will not be a fully electric Lamborghini within the next 10 years.
