Atlus' "Shin Megami Tensei" game will come to the Nintendo Switch. Players in the United States, however, may not get the game.

A press release from Atlus described "Shin Megami Tensei" as a "new HD title," according to a report from GameSpot. The post-apocalyptic role-playing game's release on the Nintendo Switch was only confirmed in Japan, with a U.S. launch unlikely at this point. It's unknown if that will change in the coming months.

Atlus' press release said that the developer's USA division has "no information about a localization for this title but wanted to present the details from the Japanese reveal of this title to the western market." However, they promised a formal announcement for the game later if "a localization gets confirmed."

A trailer for "Shin Megami Tensei" was unveiled last week during Nintendo Switch's livestream presentation that was broadcast globally. The video didn't show the gameplay, but featured several familiar demons and a wrecked office building that's probably situated in Tokyo.

This year serves as the 25-year anniversary of Japan's original "Shin Megami Tensei" release. In a tweet translated by Gematsu, Atlus announced a special website titled "Shin Megami Tensei 25th Anniversary Projects" to celebrate the occasion.

The website bears the 25th anniversary logo surrounded by the roman numerals I, II, III and IV, which point to the four "Shin Megami Tensei" games launched in 1992, 1994, 2003 and 2013. Atlus also revealed that a new 3DS project is currently in development. Further details, however, are yet to be announced.

Aside from "Shin Megami Tensei," Atlus is also developing an unrelated, role-playing game that brings the production team of "Persona 5" back together to form a new group called Studio Zero, iDigitalTimes reported back in December. Studio Zero head Katsura Hashino said that for "Project Re Fantasy," they are aiming to create a "game with the care and detail expected by the people who love ATLUS games and home console games."

Hashino said that they still don't know the game's platform, but they'll be "working hard at this challenge to truly deliver something new and incredible for all our fans." However, they believe that the game will "take a long time until completion."
