Most fans and avid gamers alike are familiar with the number of releases that Bethesda has made as of late, which was said to have been mostly remasters of games. Whether or not the entirety of the gaming community feels okay with it or not, these same fans can now rest assure that the company will now veer away and start focusing on new ideas this 2017. In other news, Todd Howard was said to be inducted in the Hall of Fame during the DICE Awards this coming months, according to sources.

It was recently reported that the VP of Bethesda, Pete Hines, expressed their plans of steering away from releasing remasters this 2017, Gamesradar noted. In an interview with OXM, which the source took note of, Hines was asked for his opinion regarding the company recently getting involved with remastering games.

With regard to Bethesda and whether or not it'll be releasing more remasters this 2017, Hines said that they are now focusing on spending all their time and effort something new. He elaborated that making a remaster for "Dishonor" was a peculiar instance for them since it was a new IP for them that was released at the tail end of the last generation of consoles. As such, they felt it made a lot of sense to remaster it and bring it up to speed with the current-gen consoles.

As for "Skyrim," Hines said that having a remaster of it was more of the work they have already done while preparing for "Fallout 4" in the current generation of consoles. However, he did say that it took a lot of manpower from them to release these remakes. As such, they intend to move on and focus on new IPs this 2017.

In other news, Bethesda's executive producer and game director, Todd Howard, will be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame, PC Gamer reported. Howard, who is widely known for his work in both the "Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout" franchise, was said to be the 22nd inductee or recipient of the award, which will be announced during the 20th DICE Awards on Feb. 23, at the Mandalay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
