EA Games and PopCap's "Plants vs. Zombies 2" recently received a new feature called Power Plants. The update allows players to increase their plants' zombie damage without costing too much Sun.

The Power Plants update, which is detailed on the "Plants vs. Zombies 2" blog, is most beneficial for players who want to grow their plants faster and save more time while doing so. This way, players obtain more plants in less time that they can then use to damage more zombies ambling towards their way in the game.

In the "Plants vs. Zombies 2" Power Plants update, upgrading plants yield bonuses that empower them to inflict more damage to the zombies. The good thing about this feat is it costs less sun. Check out the official trailer for the "Plants vs. Zombies 2" Power Plants update below.

"Plants vs. Zombies 2" players need to collect Seed Packets to power up plants. Each plant requires a minimum amount of specific Seed Packets to get an upgrade.

Seed Packets can easily be purchased from the "Plants vs. Zombies 2" store if a player is willing to shell out real cash. Those who don't want to spend their hard-earned money, however, can pick up Seed Packets by completing brand-new quests.

Those quests, which yield rewards called piñatas, finish quickly and can be repeated. The piñatas are either attribute specific or world-specific and carries Seed Packets that plants need for them to grow stronger. Players can always check "Plants vs. Zombies 2" throughout the day for an opportunity to play the quests repeatedly if the piñatas that they got don't contain the certain Seed Packet that they need.

After earning Seed Packets, players can go visit the "Plants vs. Zombies 2" Almanac or the Seed Chooser and click an eligible plant's "Upgrade" button. A plant is ready for an upgrade when it displays a full green bar and a green lightning bolt.

After the upgrade, the plant's stats improve permanently. For instance, upgrading Wall-nut to level five means that every Wall-nut you plant from then on will be at level five.
