‘Just Cause 3’ Latest News: Free PC Multiplayer Mod Introduces New Chaotic Way To Play

By

A free new mod introduced multiplayer support to Avalanche Studios' "Just Cause 3." Nanos GBR's mod called JC3:MP can now be accessed on PC.

According to GameSpot, the "Just Cause 3" mod's multiplayer support allows "hundreds of players to join together on a single server to play competitively or cooperatively." Players can explore and destroy a world side-by-side. They can also partake in a deathmatch and races, among other activities.

Watch the trailer below. You can download the mod on the official "Just Cause" MP website. Take note that players need to have a verified copy of "Just Cause 3" in order to access the multiplayer mod.

The "Just Cause 3" multiplayer mod's beta was initially announced in December, but it's possible that many players missed it due to the hustle and bustle of the holidays, Cinema Blend wrote. The mod introduces a new chaotic way to play the open-world action-adventure game. Players can now grapple, wing-glide, fly planes, race cars, commandeer vehicles and blow up anything they set their sights upon.

The "Just Cause 3" mod isn't available in Steam yet, but an FAQ revealed that it is in the works. Players can download the upcoming Steam version from the modders' website and run it, but they need to have a copy of the game on Steam. As for players using PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, there are no hints about whether or not those consoles would have multiplayer support, Game Rant noted.

A multiplayer mod for "Just Cause 3" used to be unlikely. The group that made the "Just Cause 2" multiplayer mod announced a follow-up for the sequel in 2014, but that was canceled last summer when lead developer Cameron Foote went to work for Avalanche Studios. However, it appears that another team took on the JC3:MP project and went ahead to create a multiplayer support for "Just Cause 3."

The "Just Cause" game franchise allows players to bomb and blow up things in an open-world setting. The game's story isn't entirely highlighted, but players usually pay no mind to that and instead set their sights on the fast-paced action.

What do you think of the new "Just Cause 3" multiplayer mod? What do you wish to see in the game in the near future? Sound off in the comments section below!
