"Red Dead Redemption 2" is confirmed to have an Autumn 2017 release date. As the launch is imminent, here's what to expect with the upcoming game franchise.

Better open-world experience

"Red Dead Redemption 2" trailer offers a different view of America, a stunning visual of lush jungles with mountains as the backdrop. The open world experience is heightened this time, while the storyline and characters remain unconfirmed. The graphical feature is one thing to note from the trailer. It seems that Rockstar could make the gameplay ready for today's consoles, Xbox One and PS4 - and possibly Nintendo Switch and PC.

The prequel plot

Many have also questioned about "Red Dead Redemption 2" plot. The gameplay is reportedly set in an event before the original takes place. With that being said, RDR installment status might be a prequel instead of a sequel, Yahoo News reported.

The leaked promo materials

The promotion materials have been circulating through the web in the past few weeks. This is due to the description in a promo stand that reads Autumn 2017 - indicating that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have a release date in the season.

There are a few other promotion campaigns being posted online, from the cardboards to banners - this may look like an accurate leak but the authenticity remains to be questioned.

The online multiplayer mode

"Red Dead Redemption 2" has been reported to have an online multiplayer mode based on a leak coming from a familiar source. The online mode, however, will have a later release date - after RDR 2 is launched to platforms.

Three playable characters

There is not much details being revealed up to this day except that there will also be three playable members in John's former gang, according to Ubergizmo. This is plausible since another Rockstar's game, the "Grand Theft Auto 5" also features three playable characters.
