Valve's Steam Winter Sale is in progress offering a bunch of holiday deals offering not only software but hardware as well. The Winter sale will run until Jan. 2, 2017.

Virtually every PC game imaginable that are on Steam is on sale. This presents an opportunity to purchase new titles at huge discounts that normally would cost a lot more. Listed below are just some of the best deals available during the Steam Winter Sale event:

• Just Cause - this one is a franchise sale offering up to 75 percent off
• Cities: Skylines - $7.49 (75 percent off)
• Doom - $19.79 (67 percent off)
• Mortal Kombat XL - $13.59 (66 percent off)
• Street Fighter 5 2017 Deluxe Edition - $47.28 (57 percent off)
• Tom Clancy's The Division - $24.99 (50 percent off)
• Hyper Light Drifter - $11.99 (40 percent off)
• Stardew Valley - $9.99 (33 percent off)

According to Polygon, these are just some that Valve is offering among hundreds of titles that would present a challenge to figure out what to buy during the Winter Sale.

PCWorld reported that, the Winter Sale offer deals on hardware as well, similar to what they had during the Steam Summer Sale. Steam Link price is slashed 60 percent off, or a steal at $20. Adding in a Steam Controller and the package will jump to just $50, which is not bad. The report, however, indicated that there are no deals offered for the HTC Vive.

This year also presents the introduction of the first ever annual Steam Awards. Nominations were submitted during November's Autumn Sale with voting taking place until Dec. 30. However, voters can cast their vote only in one category per day starting with "Villain Most In Need Of A Hug" award.

Winners for the First Steam Awards will be announced on Dec. 31, and it can be expected that game players will start getting hyped for new games coming next year.
