Getting a Google Home opens up possibilities for your home in having a digital personal assistant connected to everything, however, there are certain things you need to know including some tips and tricks that would make using your new device a breeze.

Google Home set up

The first thing you need to do after getting Google Home out of its box is for you to download the Google Home app on your phone. The app will walk you through the setup process, which Wired reported; anyone can do in his or her sleep.

Once in place, it will ask to be signed into your Google account. Doing so will give you Home access to your calendar, email, flight, and so much more.

Ok Google, what can you do?

You need to give Google Home access to your smart lighting system, your TV, and online subscriptions to enjoy the convenience brought about by your Google Home from your couch or anywhere in your home where it can "hear" you say "Ok Google" followed by your command.

Link your Netflix account will enable you to play your TV shows and movies with a connected Chromecast or Google Cast device by just using your voice. Your Google Home can also be a control hub for any smart home, which is the prime function of Google Home, according to 9To5Google.

Google Home also need access to your music accounts, which it can play through its speaker or cast the audio to your TV or speakers with Chromecast or Chromecast Audio. Not only that, beam your Google Photos direct to your TV through a simple command.

Another neat trick Google Home can do for you is getting an Uber by linking your Google and Uber accounts. You can also do a digital grocery list and Google Home will send the list to your phone. That is if you can find your phone. If you cannot, Google Home can find your phone for you.
