Most fans and avid gamers alike will remember that it has already been four years since they've last seen an installment released for THQ Nordic's acclaimed "Darksiders" franchise. As time goes on, fans can't help but speculate as to whether or not a "Darksiders 3" will be released. As such, sources took note of rumors circulating around that the third installment might be released by the end of the month. Moreover, the renowned game developers have been reported to have acquired new IPs for further development.

It was previously reported that rumors of a "Darksiders 3" was being made after news of Mark Hamill surfaced around that he has returned to lend his voice as The Watcher for "Darksiders: Warmastered Edition," University Herald noted.

This time around, fans have turned their attention to another rumor regarding the release date of a possible "Darksiders 3" by the end of the year, Vine Report learned. It was stated therein that an online retail store was seen adding "Darksiders 3" to its catalog with a suggested Dec. 31 release date.

Moreover the same listing had pegged the game as an Xbox One exclusive along with a price tag of around 56 US dollars. As such, it was suggested by the source that fans hoping for a "Darksiders 3" release this year should take this with a grain of salt.

In addition to this, the source also speculated as to the possibility of the Horeseman Fury to be featured as the next protagonist for "Darksiders 3." Fans will remember that Fury is part of the remaining Nephilim members and part of the four Horsemen.

In other news, it was reported that THQ Nordic has acquired two new games, which they intend to develop for the upcoming Nintendo Switch, Videogamer stated. It was mentioned that both the rights to "Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy" and "War Leaders: Clash of Nations and Legends of War."

The source went on to cite the company's CEO, Lars Wingefors, who said in an interview that "Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy" is well suited for the upcoming Nintendo Switch. He also added that despite these games are not financially material acquisitions, they picked up these two IPs due to their passion and love for these types of games.
