Majority of the fans and gamers alike would agree that either a backwards-compatibility or a remaster of a game is always a good thing. Not only do fans get to relive and experience their favorite games on the current-gen consoles, but it also opens pup an opportunity for new fans to play them, as well. Such is the case for Sony's iconic 'PaRappa the Rapper,' which will be getting a remastered version in 2017. Moreover, more games are announced to be re-released for the PlayStation 4, according to sources.

It was recently reported that a select of PlayStation 2 games are getting remastered and are slated for a 2017 release date for the PS4, Polygon learned. These games were announced during Sony's yearly-event, PSX or PlayStation Experience 2016.

It was also reported that the upcoming remastered version of the rhythm game will be rendered in 4K and 1080p resolution. Moreover, the company is taking the game a step forward by including some new features in the game, PlayStation Blog noted.

Aside from bringing the game up to speed with the current resolution of HD gaming, fans can expect a special feature that will fully utilize the Dualshock 4 capabilities of the PS4. It was stated that the controller will provide a stead metronome for each song to help fans "feel" the beat and cadence of the rap.

In other news, it was also mentioned by the source that "Loco Roco" and "Patapon" will also be getting a remastered treatment for the PlayStation 4 in 2017.
