Sony Xperia X Performance users can finally upgrade to Android Nougat 7.0 starting today. The company just started rolling out the update one month after Samsung tested the beta version of the software.

Android Nougat 7.0 for selected markets

Apparently, not all Xperia X Performance users can update to Android Nougat 7.0. As of today, the update is only available for users in Australia, Russia, and Latin America. According to Phone Arena, the update is coming to Xperia X Performance with model number F8131 and Xperia X Performance Dial with model number F8132.

Though the update is only available to selected users, it is expected that all users can update to Android Nougat 7.0 soon.

How to Update to Android Nougat 7.0 manually?

GSM Arena gave some hint on how to upgrade manually just in case a user didn't receive an automatic notice of update to Android 7.0. Just go to "Settings" then tap the option "About Device." After that, do the last step by tapping "Software Updates."

Other phones getting the Android Nougat 7.0 update?

Aside from Xperia X Performance, other Sony smartphones are also getting an Android Nougat 7.0 update. First in line is Sony Xperia XZ and it is going to be followed by Xperia X, Xperia X Compact, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia XA and Xperia, and XA Ultra. It is rumored that not all of these devices are going to get the update before the year ends, but at least the majority can already transition to Android Nougat 7.0 by 2016.

Those who were lucky enough to update to Android Nougat 7.0 are enjoying some new features such as split-screen windows, improved touch sensitivity and auto rotation for Sony Camera viewfinder. Android 7.0 also featured an improved Stamina Mode which is quite helpful for extending the battery life of Xperia X Performance.
