PlayStation VR sales in the United Kingdom (UK) is predicted to surpass that of the combined sales of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive soon.

Sales of the PlayStation VR may have dipped in its native Japan, but reports indicate that the Sony's VR headset is doing quite well in the UK. According to MCV UK, the PlayStation VR is in a position to outsell HTC Vive and Oculus Rift combined as reported based on analysis from data tracker Gfk's October consumer panel survey.

According to the report, one of the prime factors for this is the price of the headsets and system requirements. Price range for HTC Vive is at £800 and Oculus Rift at £550 as compared to Sony's PlayStation VR priced around £350.

Another factor is that both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift require a relatively high-performance PC whereas the PlayStation VR already benefits from a large base of PS4 owners in the UK that are said to be 3.5 million. According to VideoGamer, The PlayStation VR, since its introduction in October has been sold out with new stocks being snapped up quickly.

Early adopters weren't certain what to expect from VR and Sony's brand eradicated concerns that led to high expectations. Feedbacks have been positive so far with some claiming their experience surpasses expectations.

While no official sales figures were presented, the findings are not that surprising. Sony's PlayStation VR headset is the cheapest of the three and one that does not require a high-spec machine to put into work.

Sales are also predicted to go well now that the price of the PS4 is reduced, primarily due to the introduction of the PS4 Slim. Aside from doing well, sales are also expected only to get much better for the PlayStation VR with Christmas around the corner, which might boost sales during the holiday spending.
