Samsung released the Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor CFG70, which is designed primarily for gamers. The display was first introduced at Gamescom 2016 and at the IFA 2016 conferences.

The first ever curved gaming monitor will come in 24-inch and 27-inch models and will feature quantum dot technology. Samsung says the monitor includes an enhanced picture quality and player-friendly features that can get a player immersed in the gaming experience, according to Samsung.

According to Trustedreviews, the CFG70 quantum dots are small particles that convert Blue LED light into highly saturated primary colors in the narrow band for LCD's. The process results in higher peak brightness, more accurate color, and high color saturation.

The images should also appear dynamic in the CFG70 with its 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and it also features an advanced motion blur reduction technology. The unit also sports a moving picture response time (MPRT) of 1 ms delivered by it VA panel. This greatly reduces transitions between moving and animated objects that should give games fewer distractions when gaming.

The CFG70 has a refresh rate of 144Hz that can be scaled down to a minimum of 60Hz and it also employs the AMD FreeSync technology, which minimizes tearing and input lag by automatically syncing the screens refresh rate to that of the game.

The CFG70 also provided a "dedicated gaming interface" with the unit which allows users to modify and personalize gameplay settings with ease. The unit will ship with factory-calibrated game modes. Users, however, will be able to customize black gamma levels, contrast ratios, and sharpness. It also features a stylish menu and lighting effects that can sync up with the users audio.

Samsung previously announced that the Samsung Quantum Dot Curved Gaming Monitor CFG70 models will be available later this year for $399 for the 24-inch model and $499 for the 27-inch model.
