Fans and gamers alike have been enjoying Bethesda's latest release, "Fallout 4." However, it seems that their fans on the consoles PS4 and Xbox One have been missing out on one feature that would complete the whole Bethesda-experience - the use of mods in games. This has now been addressed as sources indicate that "Fallout 4" for the PS4 recently received support for using mods in the game.

It was recently reported that the 1.8 Update for "Fallout 4" was released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, Gamespot has learned. It was mentioned that fans of the open-world game can now make use of mods for the PS4, since this feature was included as part of the recent patch.

The source went on to state that after some disputes, mods for the PS4 games like "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim: Special Edition" are now possible as a result of having an amicable agreement between Sony and video game developer, Bethesda Studios.

However, the same publication stated a caveat for gamers who want to make use of this feature for their game. It was said that mods for the PS4 will only support those that make use of its internal assets only. As a result, the source predicted that there will be less mods for the PlayStation 4 than both PC and Xbox One.

As such, it was further elaborated by Kotaku as to which mods are working and not in order for gamers to understand how they can get their mods to work for the PS4 version of "Fallout 4."

It reiterated the point that "Fallout 4" mods for the PS4 will only make use of its internal assets. As such, custom textures can't be applied to the mods for the PlayStation 4. The same publication pointed this out by using Neeher's Firelance weapon mod as an example.

In order for mods to work properly for "Fallout 4" on the PS4, they must rely on the internal assets of the game, preexisting models, and those that modify codes without the need for physical assets.

As fans dip their feet on modding their "Fallout 4" game, they can check the rest of the fixes and changes that came with the 1.8 Patch via Bethesda's official website.
