The Google Nexus 7 is unlikely to come out due to Google's reluctance to announce anything about it, and there are even no leaks about the upcoming smartphone. There are also reports that Huawei pass up the job of making the Nexus 7.

Huawei Declines Nexus 7 Job

Google earlier contracted Huawei to construct the Google Nexus 7 smartphone in order to make it available this coming Christmas holidays. Huawei, however, decided to say no when Google insisted that the Chinese phone manufacturer is not allowed to include its own logo, according to winfuture.

Huawei did make the Nexus 6P for Google on 2015 but the Chinese company wants to get more from its partnership with Google. Huawei's Consumer Business VP Colin Giles said that his company wants to be recognized for the work it's been doing. It's no longer contended to stay in background as a nameless contractor for Google's smartphones.

Giles justified Huawei's stance by revealing that the company invested substantially in the development of the Nexus 6P. Huawei was also willing to continue work with the Nexus 7 until Google decided not to include the manufacturer's logo on the upcoming device. This is also the reason why the contract for the Pixel Smartphone did not go to Huawei.

HTC Gets Pixel Smartphone Contract

Google awarded the Pixel smartphone manufacturing works to Taiwan-based tech company HTC, according to PC Advisor. The upcoming Google phone will reportedly run a new and upcoming OS known only as "Andromeda" and not the latest Android Nougat OS. The Andromeda OS is reportedly the combination of Android and Chrome.

The upcoming Pixel smartphone may have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 as its processor and the Adreno 530 as its graphic card. Pixel will also get 4GB of RAM and a 64 GB hard drive. Battery included is rumored to be a 5100 mAh and the USB is a Type-C port. Google has yet to set an official release date for the Nexus 7.
