Celebrities and notable personalities are breaking barriers around the world. Emma Watson is championing the right to girls' education in certain parts of Africa by opening a conversation with African leaders to abolish early child marriages.

Oprah Winfrey is doing her part to empower girls and women around the world. This TV personality's aim is to push women to break gender barriers everywhere. The 62 year old celebrity feels strongly about this type of change.

Winfrey explains that she wants to help young girls everywhere be able to pursue their dreams. And it can only happen by changing the world. Oprah Winfrey has always been an advocate of women and education. She is named as one of PEOPLE's Women Changing the World, cites Yahoo. She has a ton of organizations that is focused on improving education and the quality of life for women. But Girl Effect is one organization that fights for adolescent women.

Oprah explains that there is more for these women than just sitting around and smoking or drinking tea in their local villages. She stresses that these women, their daughters, needs to go to school and does not need to be married by the age of 12.

Girl Effect is Oprah Winfrey's project that is dedicated to assist young women in getting education by removing poverty in the equation. Winfrey's project helps build confidence in these adolescent women and provides access to resources and education that they deserve. She is working on a similar goal like that of Emma Watson's. And she calls Girl Effect as a transforming tool for these young girls. In a way, Girl Effect will change the way the young woman sees herself and creates the same effect in her community. Her community will see her in a different light.

Oprah Winfrey's Girl Effect, which is supported by the Nike Foundation, hopes to bring these young women to full empowerment and change the world.
