After a long time of silence of after the numerous rumors and leaks, "Left 4 Dead 3" is again rumored to be in development due to the release of new campaign DLC for "Left 4 Dead." Valve owns the rights for the franchise. 

A hint of a comeback for "Left 4 Dead 3"

"Left 4 Dead 3" seemed to be an impossible video game to launch since it has been years since Valve  and game developer Turtle Rock Studios has released any news about the game. Recently, a new development from the developers has appeared and it is in the form of a DLC. According to the official website of Auger Resources, the Dam It campaign DLC is the game developer's last "Left 4 Dead" campaign that was never finished.

Unfinished "Left 4 Dead" Dam It campaign up for grabs

The "Left 4 Dead" Dam It campaign has a couple of survival maps that never got launched after many years in development. This new campaign will fill in the gaps of the story between the Dead Air and Blood Harvest campaigns so that it will make more sense now. The best advantage of this release is that it is free to download for anyone around the world.

Valve owns rights to "Left 4 Dead" franchise

According to the official forums of Turtle Rock Studios, some forum members have expressed their desire for the developers to make "Left 4 Dead 3," bringing it to the PlayStation and Xbox. Another member revealed that Valve currently owns the rights to the franchise, which means that the developers do not have a choice if the owner does not want the game released or developed.

TRS co-founder has no plans to return for "Left 4 Dead 3"

The Turtle Rock Studios co-founder Phil Robb revealed to Xbox Achievements in an interview that the "Left 4 Dead" game franchise is now handled by Valve. He said that they have gone off in their own direction, and they will not go back for developing a potential "Left 4 Dead 3." He also said that they can go back, but it will be as a fan and not as a developer.
