The Social Planning and Events Committee at the University of Pennsylvania, or SPEC, hosts events every year. SPEC is the branch of student government in U of Penn that serves as the student programming board. Organized in 1990, SPEC's goal is to inform, entertain, and cultivate Penn students .It holds concerts, talks and shows that includes huge celebrity names such as Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and even Caitlyn Jenner.

And here comes Anna Kendrick. This actress started her career as a child actress. At just 12 years old, she won a Tony for her Broadway role in "High Society." She attended Deering High School before entering the entertainment industry. Aside from her tapping and singing in "Pitch Perfect," she currently stars in "The Accountant" with Ben Affleck.

This year, SPEC is bringing Anna Kendrick to Pennsylvania as a SPEC Connaissance speaker. Last year's speakers include Serena Williams, Caitlyn Jenner and Anderson Cooper. This time, the "Pitch Perfect 2" star is invited by SPEC to participate in a moderated discussion at Irvine Auditorium on November 18, 2016.

Between 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Kendrick will not only be participating in topics that matters most but will also promote her new book "Scrappy Little Nobody," cites The DP. According to SPEC Connaissance director Caroline Pitofsky, a college senior, Kendrick is the perfect speaker for college students.

Pitofsky had taken a class with Kendrick before and she thinks her personality, experience and knowledge can benefit the audience. Pitofsky describes her as a dream speaker. Chris Richardson, who is also a SPEC Connaissance directors says that Anna Kendrick's experience when it comes to television, theater and film fits with SPEC Connaissance's mission. When it comes to diversity, Kendrick fits the role.

Tickets are available for the November 18 event online at $10 for University of Pennsylvania students and $40 for the general public.
