Twitter has been into an experimentation scheme lately, and it involves the Reader feature of its iOS app.

Twitter has made the Apple-built Reader feature default for its iOS app, which would give a more simplified web pages for some users whenever they access the external links that are attached in every tweet. This type of view has already appeared in the 2011 version of Safari, wherein its main feature is to remove any website formatting, thus, a minimal layout can be seen by the users.

Even though this might sound more of an advantage, the visual formatting of the website is removed. There were also cases when the Safari will produce a broken or an awkwardly-spaced wording in an article. However, as of now, this is just a test that Twitter is doing and it might not result into a major change, according to Engadget.

Twitter is doing experiments about its planned changes every now and then, yet only some of these tests are adapted for a great change. Users find news about what Twitter is currently up to as an advantage, especially that Twitter has been tagged as a people's news network by Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey in his latest internal memorandum.

It seems like Twitter is directed towards integrating journalism into its platform, then it is just fitting for the company to conduct tests or experiments on how news stories will be shown for its readers. Twitter was not able to develop a rival for Google's AMP initiative and Facebook Instant Articles, both of which enables faster loading time for web articles, giving users more convenience.

This initiative of Twitter will, however, have an effect to its advertisers, especially because this feature disables ads and eventually making them disappear from the page. This experiment was meant to increase Twitter's traffic and revenue since there were news about its lack of growth, and no buyer was interested to purchase it, according to Apple Insider.
