A lot of fans are waiting for the Apple Macbook Pro 2016 release date. Will the device be available for students this academic year?

Apple Macbook Pro 2016's specs are rumored to have a new design as well as an OLED Display Touch Bar. It is also believed to be powered by Intel and AMD. The device is said to have "shallower curves around the edges" which will make the highly-anticipated Macbook much thinner.

This is a helpful feature for students since it would make bringing one's laptop along easier if it's sleeker. Gone would be the days of lugging around a bulky backpack around the campus.

The Apple Macbook Pro 2016 release date may also unveil a smart keyboard for the device that will feature a backlit e-ink display. This feature allows users to setup the keyboard for frequently used shortcuts and language-swapping.

Gotta Be Mobile reported that Apple will have a special event on Oct. 27. Apparently, the tech giant will bring the spotlight on its Mac line.

The publication noted that the Apple Macbook Pro 2016 release date may also be revealed in the event. Moreover, the device may also be available as early as Oct. 28 - just in time for this school year.

Users can benefit from a big processor boost and plenty of USB C ports. There are also speculations that the Apple Macbook Pro 2016 will have Touch ID support as well.

According to TIME, Apple's invitation did not provide specific details for the event. However, its tagline, "Hello Again," may be a reference to the tech giant's original Macintosh.

Recode noted that there have been a lot of expectations that Apple will introduce new Macs after it released MacOS Sierra last month. The launch is also said to come just in time for the company to have new products available for consumers this holiday season.

Sierra features added support for Apple's voice assistant, Siri. It also gives users the ability to copy and paste between iOS and MacOS devices.
