Are you a Nexus user who is currently undecided to jump to Pixel phones? Knowing the difference between the two Google smartphones will help you decide whether Pixel and Pixel XL are worth the switch.

Mainstream reviews of Google Pixel phones revealed that Pixel is not Nexus and Nexus is not Pixel. In other words, each smartphone embodies unique features alongside great specs, but the newly launched Pixel phones seemed to have a great advantage.

Pixel XL vs Nexus 6P

Pixel XL and Nexus 6P are both high-end smartphones of Google. When it comes to display, both have the same screen resolution of 2560 x 1440; however, they do differ in pixel density as Pixel XL has 534 ppi while Nexus 6P has 518 ppi.

For the physical design, Pixel XL appears to be thinner compared to Nexus 6P, while the latter weighs more compared to the former, CNET reported. When it comes to mobile operating system, Pixel XL runs the latest version Android 7.1 Nougat, whereas Nexus 6P runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Under the hood, Pixel XL appears to be faster than Nexus 6P because of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 whereas Nexus is powered by the 810 version. Pixel XL is only available in two storage variants (32GB and 128GB) while Nexus 6P has three storage options (32GB, 64GB and 128GB).

Furthermore, Pixel XL is equipped with 4GB of RAM backed by 3450 mAh battery capacity, while Nexus 6P sports 3GB of RAM with the same non-removable battery capacity.

In terms of camera specs, Pixel XL and Nexus 6P have the same camera features, sporting 12.3 Megapixel rear camera and 8 Megapixel front-facing snapper. Both phones have built-in fingerprint at the back, both supports USB-C connector and both smartphones support 4K resolution.

Google Discontinues Nexus Brand

Google did not directly confirm that the end is high for its Nexus phones; however, the search giant has made an announcement that they will not be producing another smartphone under the Nexus brand, Digital Trends reported.
