The heated race between Oculus Rift and HTC Vive has become more interesting when several game titles have been rolled out to each VR platforms. It appears that Vive has more advantage over Rift, but the latter is more affordable.

Oculus Rift vs HTC Vive

To be able to experience virtual reality's full potential, gamers opt for Vive over Rift due to the former's display resolution feature, called room-scale system, that is capable of tracking someone's intricate movements. According to The Daily Dot, the tracking system also enables the gamers to walk around the virtual world with their own feet.

Furthermore, another reported advantage of Vive over Rift lies in the former's controller, which was said to change the whole VR interaction. According to Digital Trends, HTC Vive is more immersive because it doesn't limit players to only seat while playing.

Oculus Rift Upgrades

To address the issue on full-room VR experience, Oculus is planning to add room-scale support to the Rift before 2016 ends, which basically means adding sensors of movements to Oculus Touch motion controllers. However, it is not yet clear whether the add-ons will cost more to its original price.

Price

Oculus Rift is priced at $600, which is lower than HTC Vive's $800 price tag; however, according to the same publication, the former's price is just right for the capabilities of its VR platform. In addition, the source emphasized that if someone has to spend dollars for an ultimate VR experience, then they should opt for the HTC Vive instead.

In other news, although Oculus Rift is cheaper that HTC Vice, the former is a bit costlier compared to the newly launched PlayStation VR, which according to reviews "the first step to the future of gaming." Furthermore, PSVR is considered by some as the VR mainstream and new brilliant gaming gadget.
