The biggest change happening on Google's smartphone would be the rebranding from Nexus to Pixel. How does Google Pixel compare to Nexus 6P?

Google Pixel vs Nexus 6P: Design

Nexus 6P, built by Huawei, has a cool metal rigid body that looks more of a futuristic phone. The Pixel and Pixel XL body consists of from metal and glass but the design looks familiar as it is almost like holding an iPhone.

Google Pixel gets a small screen of 5 inch whilst Pixel XL is the larger sibling with 5.5 inch screen. Nexus 6P is a 5.7 inch smartphone. From here, the choice goes down to personal preference, whether potential user wants a compact phone or phablet. All sporting AMOLED display with Pixel XL having the highest pixel density of 534 ppi followed by Nexus 6P and Pixel.

Google Pixel vs Nexus 6P: Hardware and software

Pixel phones feel really fast by default when switching apps - thanks to Snapdragon 821 under the hood that's paired with 32/128 GB and 4 GB RAM.

The Nexus 6P has Snapdragon 820 and 3 GB of RAM with storage options of: 32/64/128 GB. It is just a step behind and the performance jump may not be that huge.

All of the devices do not offer external storage option so potential user has to choose wisely before buying. The Pixel phones run Android Nougat out of the box with 'pure' Android experience and new Pixel launcher that was leaked before.  

Nexus 6P and Pixel XL offer the same amount of battery capacity, a non-removable 3450 mAh battery. Pixel has a lower battery with 2770 mAh.

Google Pixel vs Nexus 6P: Camera

Google Pixel does not get many improvements on the optics department compared to the Nexus 6P. The 12 MP shooter features dual LED Flash, fast autofocus and slow-motion. The front camera is able to snap 8MP selfies. Nexus 6P and Google Pixel can record 4K video. GSM Arena list a full specs for both Pixel and Nexus 6P.
