You know her as Lara Croft in the epic "Tomb Raider" movies. And her name is being dragged through the noise as she goes through the divorce procedures with Brad Pitt. But Angelina Jolie is a person with a different identity back then.

As a young girl, she had a different dream. She was the daughter of Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, which means acting is in her blood even at an early age, cites Talk. When she was little, she often watched movies with her mother and that made her want to become an actress. When she was 11 years old she enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She stayed there for two years and performed in several productions. For her secondary education, she proceeded to Beverly Hills High School.

From there, she experienced an emotional turmoil. She felt isolated because her mother survived on a more modest income. She was bullied for being thin and wearing glasses and braces. She tried her hand at modeling but failed. She then moved to Moreno High. It was at that point that she started experimenting with knife play. She wore black like a punk kid would.

Later on, she dropped out of her acting classes and decided to become a funeral director. Angelina Jolie even took study-at-home embalming courses.

But eventually, she returned to theater. Years later, she suffered emotional and psychological depressive moments. And it was only when she adopted Maddox that she felt she would never be self-destructive again.

Now, she is a known humanitarian. Angelina Jolie would not be known as she is today if she became a funeral director. She is the Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and she is currently tasked to be a visiting professor at the London School of Economics. She is considered to be one of the most influential and powerful people in the American entertainment industry.
