"Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" is the third and final chapter of RPG-series which is according to reports the most difficult compared to the first two chapters. The game is an add-on to PS4, Xbox One and PC consoles but is it worth every penny?

Interest among the gamers sparked when publisher named Bandai Namco released the video footage of "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" gameplay just before its official release in October. The final chapter of the RPG-Series will come as an add-on to PS4, Xbox One and PC for $15 and $25 for the season pass of the game according to Game Spot.

The video footage released by Bandai Namco entitled "Divert Thine Eyes" revealed everything about the gameplay. In addition, Ashes of Ariandel offers more armor sets, new weapons and magic elements.

Style and Theme

"Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" has provide a huge space for exploration among players with its new environment type - the vast snowy field. According to Polygon, the new setting is very unique and mysterious and its difference will make it stand apart from the first two chapters.

Throwbacks to the First Dark Souls

Who doesn't like throwbacks? The new zone in the new Dark Souls is called "The Painted World of Ariandel" which reminds the players of "The Painted World in Ariamis" in the first Dark Souls. Also, another thing that's nostalgic is the DLC's first boss the giant wolf which will surely remind players about the Great Grey Wolf in Dark Souls.

Less New Boss Fights

New bosses in the DLC has down into half in the new Dark Souls however there will be a big boss battle in DLC. For example in the case of a wolf fight, the boss will fight a difficult human character for defending the wolf. Also, the developer promised a lot of new stuffs in the game such as new spells, 15 new weapons including a spear type and full armor sets.

Independent on the Base Game

Since "Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel" is independent from the base game, its ending has no effect on the base game after all. The theme and the storyline are all concluded in the base game.
