Last week, we learned about the stories of child prodigies such as Michael Kearney, Moshe Kai Cavalin, Alia Sabur, Adragon De Mello and Gregory Smith. 12-year-olds Jeremy Shuler and Cendikiawan (Diki) Suryaatmadja were also reportedly going to be college freshmen this year at Cornell University and at the University of Waterloo, respectively.

This time, a glimpse of the lives of five more child prodigies will be revealed. We will look into how Colin Carlson, Akrit Jaswal, Kathleen Holtz, Sho Yano and Tathagat Avatar Tulsi were discovered.

1. Colin Carlson

Carlson started reading books on his own when he was 2 years old. At 9, he already started taking college level classes at UConn and got officially enrolled at 11 years old. He graduated from Stanford University Online High School. He pursued a degree in Biology, focusing on natural ecosystems.

2. Akrit Jaswal

This guy practiced medicine even before he became a college student at 11 years old. He performed his first surgery at the age of seven, when he did a simple surgical procedure to separate a girl's fingers. According to Business Insider, he became India's youngest physician and university student. He is believed to have an estimated IQ of 146.

3. Kathleen McLaughlin

At 10, she started college at California State University, LA. She graduated after four years with a magna cum laude in philosophy. She then began law school at the UCLA School of Law at 15. Holtz became the state of California's youngest lawyer at 18, in 2007. She works as a business litigation attorney with the Troy Guild in LA.

4. Sho Yano

He is believed to have one of the highest IQs in the world, at a whopping 200. He entered college by the age of eight and graduated by 12. Afterwards, he went on to take the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Chicago, where he worked on his MD and PhD in molecular genetics and cell biology.

5. Tathagat Avatar Tulsi

After completing high school at age 9, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi earned his Bachelor's Degree at 10 and an MS at 12 from Patna Science College. At age 21, he completed his PhD at the Indian Institute of Science. He is the youngest student in India to hold a doctorate degree.
