The ever-controversial Kanye West was given a spot at the MTV 2016 VMAs where he rambled on unfiltered before he presented his new music video for his song "Fade." The 39-year-old rapper/producer also spoke up about the 22 people who were murdered in Chicago last week.

West shared a conversation he had with a kid who came up to him after he spoke at the Art Institute last year. "Three of my friends died, and I don't know if I'm gonna be the next," the kid said.

The rapper-turned-fashion designer then admitted that he has had times when he felt worthless. "I know times for me, I sit down and talk to older, like, like, rich people," he said. "You know, a.k.a. white, you know. And they tell me, 'Don't compare yourself to Steve Jobs. Don't compare yourself to Walt Disney.'"

His friend told him that there are "three keys to keeping people impoverished: that's taking away their esteem, taking away their resources, and taking away their role models." "My role models are artists, merchants. There's less than ten that I can name in history. Truman. Ford. Hughes. Disney. Jobs. West," he added.

"Bro, we are undeniably the influence, the thought leaders. I'm gonna play y'all a piece of my art, and I just hope y'all have a good time."

It makes sense. An individual's motivation is largely influenced by the people he or she looks up to. Take away that right and that person may find it difficult to weather life's storms.

Speaking to Billboard, Kanye West's point for his six-minute speech was for everyone to "just love each other." "Just that we need to love each other, have a good time, appreciate our time on life and do everything we can to have the best time possible," he revealed.

He also expressed his vision of making uniforms in Chicago. This is his starting point of ending classism and bullying around the world.
