For some, it takes a while to finish school. No one would have thought Alec Baldwin would have taken years to finish. He earned his bachelor's degree in 1994. Initially, he started his degree in 1979 at the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts but never finished.

But he stepped foot into the school once again, as Business Insider has it, to receive an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts Degree.

Born in 1958, the veteran American actor was raised in Nassau Shores in Amityville, New York. At a young age, Baldwin attended the Alfred G. Berner High School in Massapequa. He fancied sports at the time. He played football. Later on in New York City, he worked as a busboy at the disco Studio 54. He did that while he attended the George Washington University during 1976 to 1979. Afterwards, he transferred to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

He also enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Later on, he was acknowledged as a member of the Actors Studio.

In 1994, he stepped foot in his alma mater once again - this time to receive his honorary doctorate.

He is known for his works in Beetlejuice, The Hunt for Red october, The Aviator and The Departed. He also did his share of television air time such as NBC's 30 Rock. He won several awards and nominations for his role as an actor and supporting actor in several occasions.

While it took him a while to finish his education, eventually he was able to do so. Having mastered his skill in acting, he plans on helping others succeed in the craft. To promote education and the arts, he began a scholarship fund in 2010. He called it the Alec Baldwin Drama Scholarship Fund. The scholarship helps students afford an education at NYU Tisch.
