Samsung has come under fire from avid smartphone users in the past for being sluggish in terms of updating its devices to the latest version of the Android mobile OS. Learning a valuable lesson from the past, Samsung will reportedly roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat for the upcoming flagship Galaxy Note 7 in just two or three months.

According to Samsung Electronics President of Mobile Communications Koh Dong-jin, the Android 7.0 Nougat rollout for the Galaxy Note 7 is slated to begin as soon as October. The executive spilled the beans about Samsung's plan to begin beta testing the system soon.

Koh emphasized on the importance of offering up-to-the-minute information with the new OS, however noted that its imperative to come up with a seamless and stable platform for consumers, as reported by the Korea Times.

The executive also affirmed that Samsung will not sacrifice quality with the faster offering of Android latest operating system, as the company will be carrying out a slew of beta testing before making the update available to the public.

If Koh's word proved to be true, it will be a new speed record for Samsung with an Android 7.0 update for the Galaxy Note 7 within just three months of the smartphone's release. However, its worth noting that unlocked models will most probably be getting the update faster, citing the fact that they are not dependent on approval from carriers unlike the carrier-linked devices in the U.S.

The decision to expedite the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy Note 7 stems from a slew of customer feedback; however the complications of carrier testing in the U.S. would probably cause a delay in the arrival of the OS upgrade.

Its crucial for carriers to test updates like these, as each carrier have different versions of the same smartphone, and the update process could further delay the timeframe of Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade.

That being said, Koh's assurance about rolling out the operating system update faster for the Galaxy Note 7 can be cited as a preeminent selling point for the smartphone. Even if the upgrade is postponed in the U.S. in the wake of carrier testing, it would still be comparatively faster than what Samsung smartphone consumers are used to.

Tipped to be one of the hottest phones that 2016 has on offer, the Galaxy Note 7 upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat will give it a solid fighting chance against Apple's iPhone 7, which is slated to make an appearance by September or October.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders open

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is slated to hit the store shelves by Friday, August 19, however those waiting with bated breath for Samsung's next flagship can pre-order the smartphone and have the opportunity to get their device early.

T-Mobile customers who pre-ordered the much-awaited smartphone will have a chance to get their hands on the device earlier than everyone else. Several excited users on the internet noted that they have already received their tracking number from T-Mobile and they are slated to receive them in just a couple of days.

A number of people claimed that their T-Mobile Galaxy Note 7 phones are being shipped to them, according to a thread on Reddit.

However, another report noted that not everyone who pre-ordered through T-Mobile received an SMS notification from the carrier regarding their device. Apparently, those who chose Onyx Black version stood a better chance of getting their Galaxy Note 7 earlier.

Regrettably, those who opted for other color variations including silver titanium, blue coral, gold platinum may have to wait a little longer.
