Hollywood houses a host of celebrities and artists who have made their name through their performances and accomplishments in the field.

There are some celebrities, artists and actors who have more book smarts than anyone has ever realized. Like James Franco for example, he is secretly smart, according to Brit.

The American actor and film maker is known for his various movie roles. The most prominent of all was his rendition of James Dean in 2001 and 127 hours where he portrayed a man who needed to survive by chopping his hand off. He is an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winner, and not to mention a Broadway performer.

Born in Palo Alto, California, this local grew up in an academic, liberal and largely secular household. He attended and acted in plays during high school. His love for acting prompted him to enroll in California State Summer School for the Arts in 1998. He took theatre. Although he wanted to be a marine zoologist, he secretly loved acting and wanted to become an actor. But his fear of rejection took hold of him. He enrolled in UCLA for an English major but later on dropped out to pursue acting.

Currently, he has a net worth of $20 million. He may be controversial in his actions but he has attended several schools and enrolled in several degrees. He pursued English in the University of California, Los Angeles. He also took film making at New York University. He did not neglect writing at Columbia. To make sure he backed up his Columbia degree, he added more writing courses in Brooklyn. Making sure he is well read, he took comparative literature in Yale. He was accepted in Houston University for another writing course but did not attend for creative writing. He also enrolled at Rhode Island School of Design.

And he is not just a student. He is also a teacher. He taught classes at Yale, UCLA and Palo Alto High School. How would James Franco as a teacher be like?
