Successful entrepreneurs are all around us. Even the shoes you are wearing come from people who pursued their dreams. Most of them made it big because of their degrees.

Everything around you comes from a person's entrepreneurial skill or design. For example, Nike. Nike is a shoe brand that made its success from sports and apparels. However, it would not be possible without somebody starting it up.

One such person is Phil Knight. The co-founder of Nike attended university and, according to Rasmussen, has a net worth of over $14 billion in 2013, and in November 2015 he became the 15 richest person in the world, according to Forbes. He has an estimated net worth in 2015 of over $28 billion.

He is a successful American business magnate and philanthropist. Born in Portland, Oregon, he studied in Cleveland High School. Phil started working at an early age. When his father, a lawyer, refused to give him a summer job at his newspaper, he went o his own. Phil approached the rival paper, Oregonian. He worked the night shift and updated sports scores every morning. He would then run back home, all seven miles.

At an early age it is clear that he had the drive, love for sports, and enthusiasm. Later on, he co-founded Nike (with Bill Bowerman) and became the chairman and CEO. But before the world knew him as one of the men behind Nike, he graduated from the University of Oregon and Stanford University. In University of Oregon, he took a journalism degree. While in Stanford, he took a business administration degree.

He was also a Certified Public Accountant, which makes him skilled as a businessman. He also became an assistant professor of the business administration sector at Portland State University.

After his success in the company, he made sure to donate to Stanford's business school, back in 2006.

Coupled with his higher education, drive for success and love for sports, Phil Knight became a successful business tycoon.
