The forthcoming reality TV show of Apple Inc. - "Planet of the Apps," is bringing on three big names, Gwyneth Paltrow, Will.i.am (The Black Eyed Peas) and the internet personality, Gary Vaynerchuk.

The three celebrities will offer guidance to app developers who appear on the reality-competition series. It's still not clear what the exact format will be, but it sounds like "Planet of the Apps" could be similar to the American television series, "Shark Tank." Paltrow and the hip hop recording artist will also serve as executive producers, according to Deadline.

A few months ago, Apple came up with the idea of making a reality TV series that would sound outrageous, and it would include stars like Paltrow and Will.i.am, based on the report of The Verge.

Ben Silverman and Howard Owens of Propagate Content, stated that they are thrilled to collaborate with Paltrow, Vaynerchuk and Will.i.am on "Planet of the Apps."

The producers also said that starting a business is challenging, their team of advisors are entrepreneurs who have each launched and built successful brands and can tap into their personal experience to offer advice to the app developers selected for the series.

However, the technology company is getting into reality programming as a means of promoting its App Store platforms, which includes iOS, Apple TV, as well as Mac OS X and Apple Watch.

Apple is still running open casting calls for app developers in the reality-competition series, with a time frame for applications until August 26, Tech Crunch reported.

Product Hunt, a website that lets users share and discover new products, is helping with these by organizing meetups in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and NY.

"Planet of the Apps" represents one of tech giant's first forays into producing original TV content. And the tech company's executive Eddy Cue first announced the show back in March, according to Business Insider.
